For weeks Halo infinite Players are faced with a very frustrating bug when queuing for the game’s Big Team Battle mode. 343 Industries attempted to fix the problem a couple of times, but it persists to this day. Fortunately, 343 Industries finally seems to be getting to the root of the problem and a solution should be available soon.

What’s the problem with Big Team Battle?
If you played Halo infinite, You probably already know this problem, especially if you are playing with friends. While queuing for Big Team Battle, players can encounter all sorts of problems. The biggest thing is that you cannot join a game with your fireteam as sometimes matchmaking says a game has been found and then suddenly players can no longer join.
I have personally encountered issues with other players in my party joining the game, but not me due to only a black loading screen or a ‘waiting to join’ status on the matchmaking screen. At other times, my friends and I have gotten into loops showing the same bug over and over, forcing us to quit the game and start over.
In short: Big Team Battle is something of a bitch at the moment. Sometimes you can join a match with no problem and sometimes these bugs and problems prevent you from participating in Big Team Battle matches despite repeated attempts. This is especially frustrating when you’re given a weekly Big Team Battle challenge, but that’s only because Big Team Battle is a fun mode that many of us want to play.
343 Industries says these problems get worse with larger squads, and since I often stand in line with three or four people in my group, I believe so. Fortunately, after repeated attempts to fix this problem, it finally seems to come up with a solution.
343 says a Big Team Battle Fix is incoming
In an update sent to the Halo waypoint forums, gloriole Community Director Brian Jarrard gave an encouraging update on the issue, saying that a “strike force” of 343 had been working on the issue over the holidays and may have found a solution. “This went into QA last week and it looks good so far – we don’t see this issue occurring internally with this build,” Jarrard said.
From here, Jarrard says the plan remains to test the fix and then send it in for certification. Unfortunately, he couldn’t give us an ETA for the solution other than that it won’t be available this week, but he said that hopefully the wait won’t be long.
Jarrard also said that 343 plans to release a major update in mid-February that will fix other issues with Halo infinite‘s multiplayer, including cheating. We’ll have to wait for more details on this patch, but Jarrard says 343 is “working to get as much as possible into this February update while making sure it doesn’t have any negative impact or regression to other parts of the game.” an encouraging thing to hear.
It’s also nice to hear that this Big Team Battle Fix isn’t being held until the February update because the sooner this mode can be fixed, the better. We will notify you when 343 Industries releases further information. So stay tuned.
