Over the years we’ve noticed that Apple has introduced new features that are usually exclusive to its high-end models, but later on Apple will roll them out across the lineup in future models.
For that reason, we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that Apple could bring the ProMotion display to the entire iPhone 14 lineup, according to analyst Jeff Pu. For those unfamiliar, ProMotion is the name Apple gave its 120Hz display. It first debuted in the iPad Pro a few years ago, but was officially launched on the iPhone 13 last year.
However, the feature was exclusive to Apple’s high-end iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models, but Pu says the entire iPhone 14 range could come with the feature. Pu also suggests that the entire iPhone 14 lineup could get an upgrade in the RAM department to 6GB, which was again exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models last year.
If that’s true, then we can’t say that the recent rumors of a possible price hike come as a surprise. It has recently been hinted that Apple may be trying to increase the price of some iPhone 14 models over the iPhone 13, so perhaps the price increase could be due to the cost of increasing the RAM and refresh rate on the models.
