However, it seems that no such update is in the works.
In his latest , Bloomberg Reporter Mark Gurman says he doesn’t think the company is “actively” working on a new HomePod mini. He points to the second-gen HomePod, noting that it “doesn’t include any major new features that aren’t already in the $99 Mini, so there’s no obvious reason to update the model,” Gurman suggests that Apple is more likely to improve the Mini by releasing software updates that address shortcomings in Siri and app integration, as that’s where “real improvements likely need to be made”.
At this point, Apple recently updated the HomePod mini’s software, which has been included with the device since release. As Gurman points out, the newly launched HomePod adds features previously exclusive to the HomePod mini, including and thread connectivity.
