Apple has slowly updated its devices with displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It started with the iPad Pro a few years ago before it appeared on the iPhone 13 and also the company’s new MacBook Pros this year. Now it seems that the next device to get the upgrade could be the iPad mini.
According to a post on the South Korean forums Shared by @FronTron on Twitter, they claim Apple is testing an 8.3-inch Samsung display that would have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The company refreshed the tablet with a brand new design earlier this year, but it kept the same LCD as its predecessors.
iPad mini 6 Pro (tentative name)
Samsung Display delivered an 8.3-inch display with 120 Hz to Apple.
The model starts with a 128 GB version with 4 GB RAM and a 3.23 GHz A15.
The price is a little higher than the Mini 6, but not as burdensome.https://t.co/SjtlLESeJq

This means that it is entirely possible that Apple could upgrade future iPad minis with a 120 Hz display, as this is a standard feature across its entire range of products. The report goes on to claim that Apple could call this iPad mini 6 Pro and it will be a little more expensive than the current model, but nothing too prohibitive.
Of course, this should be taken with a healthy amount of salt for the time being as we cannot really confirm these claims, but we can only hope that it is true. We’ve long been of the opinion that the iPad mini is actually a really nice size for a tablet, and if it gets features like a 120 Hz mini LED display, that would be the icing on the cake.
