It’s now a lot easier to use Arturia’s soft synths on your brand new MacBook. Arturie has Approved a free V Collection 8.2 update that adds native support to the (currently reduced) suite for Macs with M1 processors. That should improve performance, as you can imagine, but it could also improve battery life if you have to play without power.
Further speed updates are in preparation. The update increases the performance of 4K interfaces through a new framework and presets from the factory libraries of the V Collection are now loaded up to twice as fast. You will also find ODDSound MTS-ESP microtuning compatibility for Clavinet V, DX7 V, Piano V and Stage-73 V.
This could be an important update if you are using soft synths to make music. Arturia is known for virtual instruments that are both meticulous and relatively easy to access. This makes the V Collection more workable on M1 Macs and gives you more incentive to rely on digital synthesizers rather than chasing their more costly real world counterparts.
