Certain Affinity, a studio that has helped develop most of the mainline Halo games since the Halo 2 days, has announced that it will now be working even more closely with 343 Industries and Xbox on Halo Infinite.
This message comes via a tweet Posted by the Certain Affinity account, which states that after more than 15 years working on the Halo series, the studio is “deepening” its relationship with Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries. This announcement comes 11 days after Brian Jarrard, Community Director of 343 Industries shared during a Reddit AMA that the team isn’t happy about not meeting player and community expectations, as noted by polygon.
In the same response in the AMA, Jarrard said, “There’s a lot of production planning, costing, scheduling, hiring, etc. going on that doesn’t really lend itself to detailed regular updates,” and that 343 understands “the community is just out of patience and honestly.” , I think, understandably tired of words.” Maybe Certain Affinity will be brought in to work on Halo Infinite to release more exciting (and frequent) updates to the shooter, or maybe Certain Affinity will come in to be the support that 343 Industries needed at this moment for Halo Infinite.
As for Certain Affinity, here’s the studio’s full announcement:
“We have been a part of the Halo franchise for more than 15 years and are honored to say that we are deepening our relationship with 343 and have been tasked with advancing Halo Infinite in some new and exciting ways.”
As you can see, the studio then links to a Certain Affinity careers page and asks people to “join us on our journey.” What this journey will be, who knows? Some have speculated that Certain Affinity will do some sort of battle royale for Halo Infinite. In contrast, others hope the studio has been tasked with providing more frequent and meaningful updates to the game’s multiplayer. For now we’ll wait and see.
If you want more Halo Infinite content, you don’t have to wait long now because Season 2: Lone Wolves goes live May 3rd. Watch them Season 2: Lone Wolves Trailer prepare for it and then read it Halo Infinite review by Game Informer for our thoughts on the multiplayer and single player campaign.
