The wait for the newly announced Cities: Skylines Remastered won’t be long. Paradox Interactive has announced that the updated game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 15 for $40. It will also be a free upgrade for people who already own the title on PS4 and Xbox One.
Cities: Skylines Remastered will feature 25 buildable tiles, which Paradox says is 16 more than what’s possible on last-gen systems. Other features of this new version of the game include visual improvements, a quick selection tool, environment controls and a map editor.
Developed by Colossal Order, Cities: Skylines was originally released for PC in 2015. The simulation game eventually came to PS4 and Xbox One in 2017, followed by a Nintendo Switch edition in 2018.
For Xbox Series X|S owners, Cities: Skylines Remastered will also be part of the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for February. The management game will also be playable for the subscription service via the cloud.
Remastered editions of DLC will be on the way in the coming months, according to Paradox. Current owners of the add-ons receive the new versions up to the Airports expansion free of charge.
