Destiny 2 is changing the difficulty balance from Soup to Nuts, and the changes will have a major impact on many of the game’s most popular activities. In addition, burns in these high-level activities are now broken down into two new categories, “Surges” and “Threats.” Surges increase your outgoing elemental damage by 25%, and there will be a Recommended Surge each season, as well as one that rotates each week. Threats increase elemental damage dealt by enemies by 25%. Bungie will also introduce “overcharged” weapons, which can increase damage by 25% and further increase kinetic damage by 25% as your subclass levels up. However, Surges and Overcharges don’t stack, meaning you only need and can get one for each source of damage.
