In Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Bungie introduced weapon crafting, and with it came a bunch of new materials. Bungie eventually removed some of these materials, but still required players to use resonant elements when sculpting and reshaping weapons in the Relic. In this week’s blog postBungie shared changes players should expect to make to weaponcrafting in Year 6 with the launch of Lightfall.
First, Bungie plans to remove the Deepsight Resonance attunement progression from craftable weapons. Red-rimmed weapons required attunement progression to obtain resonant elements and extract weapon patterns for crafting. With Resonance gone, so will Resonant Elements leaving Destiny 2.
The reason for this change is that the developer wants to “integrate weapon crafting into the broader core economy,” according to the blog post. Common currencies like Glimmer and Enhancement Cores will replace the removed items.
Finally, Year 6 will remove resonant alloys – currently required for the intrinsic perk in weaponcrafting – and harmonic alloys applied to raid weapons. Keep in mind, Bungie hasn’t said when these changes will happen, so players can use these materials for weapon crafting for now and after Lightfall launches. Bungie hasn’t specified any changes for Ascendant Alloys to upgrade Enhanced Traits either.
In addition, objective materials, seasonal content, and items from Season 16 through Season 19 will be added to the Destiny Content Vault when Lightfall launches on February 28th. Bungie shared more details leading up to Lightfall, such as: B. the removal of fall fatal damage, the new Beach subclass, and Lightfall’s raid start time.
