Marvel is a big part of Disney, not just in the United States but around the world. A case in point is the celebration of Disneyland Paris’ 30th anniversary. To wrap up the celebrations, the park will present a new Marvel drone show, Avengers: Power the Night.
Running from January 28, 2023 to May 8, 2023, the show will “combine music, lights, pyrotechnic effects and video projections onto the Tower of Terror,” with 500 drones forming a series of lighting sequences dedicated to the powers of some of Marvel’s Greatest Heroes. Disney specifically names Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, and Shang-Chi in its press release for the show. Accompanying the show is a series of newly orchestrated scores from Marvel films.
It’s not a Marvel-only show, however. In addition to the show Avengers: Power the Night, parkgoers can also see the return of the Disney Dreams night show and a new show called Pixar: We Belong Together.
The Disney Dreams show is also a drone show and will feature projections of “some of the greatest Disney stories” onto Sleeping Beauty Castle, featuring songs from Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. Pixar: We Belong Together, on the other hand, is a stage show that combines technology, lighting and music to bring Pixar characters and stories to life.
It’s worth noting that the last time Disney had a Marvel drone show, it was in Spider-Man: Far From Home and was controlled by the villain Mysterio, threatening to destroy London. This will light up the night sky over Disneyland Paris.
