It’s time to leave the cinema forever. Home projectors bring the big screen experience to your living room without having to buy a $20 ticket or a $10 bag of popcorn. And Epson’s latest projector, the Home Cinema LS11000 4K, will make your local cinema look like chopped liver.
The new Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K offers just about every conceivable bells and whistles. As the long but generic name suggests, it offers 4K UHD resolution, although it also has a 120Hz refresh rate (with less than 20ms input lag – great for gamers), HDR support, HDMI ARC for external sound systems and an impressive dynamic contrast ratio of over 1,200,000:1.

In terms of connections, the Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K is perfect for most home cinema setups. There is an HDMI input, an HDMI 2 (eARC/ARC) socket, an optical HDMI port, a LAN socket, a USB-A input and a serial RS-232C port. If you need a wider range of HDMI connections, I recommend buying a soundbar or an HDMI ARC amplifier with multiple inputs – it doubles as an input selector.
The only disappointing spot is the peak brightness. This projector does not come with a maximum of 2,500 lumens amazing during the day. That means it will be perfectly usable. (An ALR screen improves daily performance, but ALR screens are quite expensive..)
The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K is available now through the Epson website and select retailers. It’s not cheap at $4,000, but to be fair it can throw an image up to 300 inches. The cheapest 80-inch TVs for comparison start at $1,000 and run at a lower resolution than this projector.
