Now that Season 3 of Video Gameography has concluded and the Uncharted series has been well… charted, we dive deep and soar above the clouds to shine the spotlight on the Bioshock series in Season 4. This week we introduce you to the wetsuit and exploration of Bioshock 2.
Bioshock 2 launched in February 2010 with developer 2K Marin led by former Irrational employees who left the studio after the release of Bioshock 1 and had barely two years to continue one of the greatest games of all time. Bioshock level designer Jordan Thomas sat in the creative director’s chair for the sequel, a major promotion that proved to be an artistic and mental challenge for the rookie leader. We discuss Big Sister’s original premise, the game’s more action-oriented approach, and how the acclaimed Minerva’s Den expansion led to the founding of indie studio Fullbright.
Join host Marcus Stewart (@Marcus Stewart7), John Carson (@John_Carson), and game informant Video editor Alex Stadnik (@Studnik76) as we unpack the story and narrative of Bioshock’s second appearance!
