Fortnite’s new season is here and Marvel is once again in the spotlight. Players now have the option to unlock Doctor Strange and Prowler as new skins. Iron Man returns after a long break.
The new season starts today and runs until summer. From March 30th to April 3rd, Epic Games is donating all Fortnite proceeds towards humanitarian aid to people affected by the war in Ukraine. The post from Epic Games states that Xbox is also donating: “Xbox is joining us in this effort and is donating their net proceeds during this time to Fortnite so we can get more help to the people of Ukraine.” You can Read more about Epic Games and Xbox Support here.
Chapter 3, Season 2: Resistance continues the fight for the zero point, giving players many new abilities and gadgets to use in the quest. The player’s default movement speed has been increased and an additional speed boost can be gained with the new sprint movement. The player can also use a cloak to hold on to ledges and pull themselves up. You no longer need to build to reach new heights.
Speaking of building, the ability is currently gone thanks to a story development you can see in the trailer above. You must now use the environment and the new moveset to gain the upper hand. Epic will of course bring building back, but in the short term it’s gone and the game will feel dramatically different.
Epic also added a new line of vehicles to add some more mayhem to the mix. An IO Titan tank and battle bus can be used, but you’ll need to save up some poles to build the bus, which features a bullbar, Chonkers hoops, and two types of turrets.
Doctor Strange and Prowler are tied to the new Battle Pass. As you work to unlock him, you can also purchase additional skins for characters like The Origin, Gunnar, and Tuski 2.0.
Epic has been surprisingly quiet at the start of this new season, but while lacking a major event to set it up, the changes to gameplay and unlockable content are huge for once and should keep Fortnite fans playing until the start of next season.
