In an unexpected but delicious development, From Software has teamed up with Red Lobster to conjure the restaurant’s greatest single piece for Elden Ring: delicious Cheddar Bay cookies.
With patch version 1.05, players exploring Liurnia of the Lakes will soon find oversized two-legged cookie monsters roaming alongside the giant lobsters that are already terrorizing the area. These munching enemies attack by tearing off pieces of themselves to praise the player. If you get hit, your character will be afflicted with the status disease “Hungry”, causing them to stop to obsessively devour the giant crumb. This leaves them vulnerable to attacks from the bone-crushing lobsters, making them a deliciously deadly duo.
In a press release, Red Lobster describes these savory troublemakers as “buttery homemade horrors ready to feast on your runes! Speaking of feasting, the Lobsterfest is back at Red Lobster! Get revenge on those nasty (yet delicious) crustaceans by enjoying our Lobster Lover’s Dream® and our new Lobster Filled Flounder! Stay dull, don’t starve!”
Killing these tasty horrors will drop the Greasy Butter Finger limited-time multiplayer consumable. Using this item will summon a dozen cheddar cookie enemies into your friend’s sessions because, according to Red Lobster, “everyone loves the friend who demands more cookies for the table.” They will also be rewarded with the special “sit back and unbuckle your seat belt” gesture.
In return for the marketing, Red Lobster plans to promote the game with a new menu item: the Elden Lord’s Feast. This limited-time meal consists of fried calamari rings, a side of “Rice of Lost Mercy” and an unusually aggressive live lobster for diners at the table to kill.
