More than anything else, New world is a game based on its faction system. This divides the community into three rival groups vying for control of the land. Join a powerful faction and you will reap the rewards of conquest – including better equipment, better stats, and increased gold production.
If you think you made a mistake in choosing your group, this is not the end of the world. There are a few restrictions, but Amazon makes it easy to change your faction New world with just a few minutes of work.

Choosing the right faction is one of the first big decisions you have to make New world. All three work the same way – that is, there are no exclusive perks if you choose one – although you get a wide variety of perks depending on how much territory your faction controls in Aeternum. You’re also limited to joining companies within your faction so make sure you join the same as your friends. Otherwise you quarrel in whole New worlds PvP content.
Here’s a quick look at the factions of New world along with their background and beliefs:
Amazon Games said the Marauders are a group of “proud warriors who honorably fight for glory and self-improvement”. This faction believes that the best way to grow is to grow through conflict and overcoming all obstacles in your path. If you think brute force can get you through any fight, the Marauders might be your perfect faction. Main color of the marauders in New world is green.
Adventurers who join the Syndicate are usually “wise disciples who use cunning to fight for truth and progress”. They are a bit more learned than the Bund and Marauders – though they draw swords when necessary. Inquisitive and curious explorers will find a perfect home in the Syndicate. The main color of this faction is purple.
As the most loyal faction in all of Aeternum, the Covenant members fight to protect the living from the dangerous lost and corrupted who roam the land. Amazon Games calls the Bund “the protective stewards of the spark – the light of intelligence and the spirit that animates all beings”. In other words, they’re a bit like the Templars or Paladins of New world. The main color of the alliance is yellow.
While political groups play a crucial role in New world, Amazon Games makes moving to another team surprisingly easy. However, you should think carefully before doing this as it will reset your faction rank and tokens – and if you’ve already sunk dozens of hours in your current alliance, it means you have a long battle ahead of you.
If you’ve weighed the pros and cons and still want to change your parliamentary group, do the following:
- Open that character menu.
- Choose Bio tab.
- Look at the left side of the screen and you will see an icon representing your faction.
- Select under the faction icon Change faction.
Remember that you can only change faction every 120 days and it will cost 100 Azoth. Other than these requirements, you are free to change factions as often as you wish.
If you haven’t joined a faction yet, don’t worry – after a few hours of gameplay, you’ll be tasked with meeting all three faction leaders and deciding which faction to join. Weigh your options carefully as you can only change them a few times a year.
