As Windows 11 evolves, you can expect more features and improvements that will make your experience even better. Microsoft has added a toolbar to the widget menu that provides quick access to popular services like news and maps.
In this guide, we’ll explore how to enable the widgets toolbar so you can take advantage of its benefits.
How to enable widgets toolbar in Windows 11
To enable and use the widget toolbar, you must Download ViveTool from GitHub. Once the ZIP file has downloaded, extract its contents into the folder C:/ViVeTool on your computer.
After completing the above steps, open Command Prompt with administrative privileges. To do this, open the Run dialog box or use the Windows search tool. For more information, see our in-depth tutorial on running Command Prompt as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:
c:vivetoolvivetool /enable /id:40772499
Once the command has been run on your computer, you will see a message that says “Function configuration(s) set successfully”. After running the above command, restart your device for the changes to take effect.
That’s it. You have now activated the new toolbar in Windows 11. It offers various useful features including Maps, Messages and other options that you can find through the popular services.
If you experience unfavorable results after using the widget toolbar, you may want to disable it. To do this, open the command prompt window with administrative access and run the following command:
c:vivetoolvivetool /disable /id:40772499
After running the program, you should restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
