Pokemon Violet and Scarlet are full of new Pokemon in the Paldea region for players to discover and catch. One of these new Pokemon is Charcadet, a small red knight-like Pokemon that can be quite powerful. Charcadet can evolve into either Armarouge, a Fire/Psycho-type Pokémon, in Scarlet, or Creuledge, a Fire/Ghost-type Pokémon, in Purple. Regardless of which version you’re playing, you’ll need to get a special item to evolve Charcadet.
Where to find Charcadet
As for finding a Charcadet, the Pokedex entry lists its habitat as covering most of the southern half of Paldea. I personally found them easiest to find in South Providence Area Three, which is directly east of Mesagoza. They can be difficult to spot due to their small stature, but the bright red color makes them a little easier to spot. You can also eat some fire-type Pokémon catching food to aid in this endeavor.
Development of Charcadet
In order to evolve Charcadet, you must travel to Zapapico, which is located in the eastern half of Paldea, in the central part. It is west of the lurking Steel Titan challenge area. Here you need to find a man in a plaid shirt who wants to make a trade. In Scarlet you must act 10 bronze fragments to the Cheap armor and in violet you must act 10 Sinistea chips to the Evil armor.
Both Pokémon can be found early in the game, albeit in very limited areas. These crafting items, typically used to craft TMs, are dropped whenever you defeat one in combat in the wild. So, track down a group and use the auto-battle feature to take them out quickly. Once you’ve acquired 10 of the required items, trade the man for the armor. The armor works like other evolutionary items, but is consumed after use. No level is required to advance Charcadet.
If you want to get the evolution of the other version of Charcadet, there are a few methods to do it. You can trade a friend for the evolved version of Charcadet from any version of the game you don’t have. You can also ask a friend to give the armor set to a random Pokemon to hold and trade for that Pokemon. You can not Join a co-op session with a friend playing the other versionsince the NPC will still offer you the same evolution item as your version of the game.
