That Genshin Impact Seelie pet is back for a limited time. These friendly, hovering, orb-like creatures are a fun addition to your party if you don’t already have one, as when equipped they’ll follow your active character, make noise, and hop around. Although they bring no benefit, it’s nice to have a small, low-maintenance shoulder pet.
When Inazuma released version 2.0 we got a new purple sealie to match the Electro Archon region, so this time there’s a new green dendro sealie to match the lush rainforests and plant life of Sumeru. In this Seelie pet guide, I explain how to unlock this levitating pet as part of the Lost Riches event.
Genshin Impact Lost Riches: How to Get the Seelie Pet
The only way to get a Seelie pet in Genshin Impact is through the lost wealth event, Here you help Ullman search for ancient iron coins with a treasure-hunting Seelie. Usually each time a new region is added there is one of these events. So if you don’t snag a Seelie now, you might be waiting a full year for the next one.
Grab the quest from the event menu and you will be instructed to speak to Ullman outside of the city of Sumeru. He will give you the Treasure Hunt Seelie Gadget and you can see your first treasure area on the event page. Although it gives you a location name and a map, these six areas can be a bit tricky to find, so here’s each location:
- Treasure Area 1: Head west from the Alcazarzaray Palace
- Treasure Area 2: Just south of the Jadeplume Terrorshroom boss arena
- Treasure Area 3: On the mountain northwest of Port Ormos
- Treasure Area 4: In the valley south of Vimara Village
- Treasure Area 5: East of Gandharva Ville where you first enter Sumeru
- Treasure Area 6: In the northern part of Apam Woods
The event itself works a little differently this time. Go to the treasure area and Activate equipped Seelie Treasure-Seeking Gadget with Z. This will reveal some coin-like icons on your mini-map, each marking the location of a blue orb of light. Pick this up and it will reveal the next orb location. It’s worth noting that these orbs are often located high up or you have to jump on bouncing mushrooms to reach them. Once you have three, a small shovel icon will appear, marking a dig site.
Before you can dig up the Coin Box, you must complete a Seelie Energy Gathering Challenge. You get these bright green orbs by defeating waves of enemies or by running around the immediate area and climbing obstacles to collect them. Once you gather enough energy and complete the challenge, you can dig up and claim the chest 30 Ancient Iron Coins. Each area has three chests to collect.
These Ancient Iron Coins can be used in Ullman’s Event Shop to purchase a variety of materials, and yes, your very own Seelie pet. Even though a seelie only costs 200 coins, which would require visiting three treasure areas, You must complete all six areas to unlock the ability to purchase a Seelie. At the very least, you can spend the excess coins on some primogems and character level-up materials.
