Anyone looking for a laptop with high-quality materials can check out the offers from HP who have been raving about the idea lately.
After the launch of a chic leather-clad HP Specter Folio In the past year, the company has now accepted wood for its Envy line of appliances.
The Envy 13, Envy x360 13, Envy x360 15 and Envy 17 are available as devices with woody details Metal versions, but you can get them now with the latest Intel Core processors or AMD 2nd generation Ryzen processors.
These are all available in three color-wood combinations: Nightfall Black with Natural Walnut, Ceramic White with White Birch or Natural Silver with Pale Birch. Of these, the natural walnut is the one that actually looks like wood from a distance, while the other two combinations are far more subtle.
Somewhat disappointing, none of the combinations actually include wood on the cover or sides of the device – the only part covered in wood is the trackpad and palm rests on either side. It’s nice when open, but when closed, the wooden parts are invisible.
The HP Envy Wood Series laptops will be available this fall; the price has not yet been announced.
