In the past week we’ve seen an obscene amount of trailers showing promising upcoming games, many of them from talented independent developers. Events like Steam’s Next Fest have even allowed us to get our hands on playable slices to better understand what these games are and how they play. Starting next week, Xbox will again be offering playable demos for indie titles in a week-long event for console players to dive into and experience the near future for indie gaming.
The [email protected] Summer Game Fest Demo Event runs from June 21-27 and features over 30 game demos for gamers to try out. In which Blog post announcing the event, Xbox reminds readers that this is the equivalent of “Showfloor” demos and is a work in progress. Each of the participating demos is only available during the days of the demo event and shuts down after that. As these games are not yet complete, the blog also asks players to share their feedback with the developers to help make the best game possible.
Xbox isn’t ready to share the full list of games for the event just yet, but has provided four titles that will be included.
- Batora: Lost Haven
- broken pieces
- Severed Steel
- tinykin
Some of these game demos are available (or are already available on PC) via Steam Next Fest. So if you have a powerful PC and can’t wait until next week, you can check out these games early.
