Marvel has announced that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be available to stream on Disney+ starting February 1st. The sequel originally hit theaters in mid-November last year.
In GameSpot’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever review, writer Mason Downey gave the film an 8/10, saying it was “a beautiful, if inconsistent, tribute to one of the MCU’s finest heroes.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever began production in 2021, almost a year after star Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer at the age of 43. At the time, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Boseman’s role as King T’Challa would not be recast. In fact, the character would be eliminated from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As such, Downey says the film “attempts to be a few too many things at once” but is also packed with “amazing scenes and iconic shots.”

Although the film is still pulling in viewers at the worldwide box office, soon you won’t have to go anywhere to see the film. Domestically, the film has become the second highest-grossing Marvel film in the past three years, behind only Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In a recent interview, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever writer Joe Robert Cole touched on which characters are potential candidates for taking on the Black Panther title. Cole also made it clear that there has never been talk of a CGI Boseman possibly filling the role in any capacity. “I don’t think anyone thought that was appropriate,” the author said.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives on Disney+ just weeks ahead of the February 17th release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
