With The Avengers as we knew now firmly in the MCU’s rearview mirror, there was ongoing speculation in the fandom that the Thunderbolts might have their day. Corresponding meetinga film centered on the reformed team of supervillains has begun to gain steam, with Eric Pearson (Black Widow) writing the screenplay and Marvel boss Kevin Feige producing.
Citing unnamed sources, the publication goes on to say that while not much is known about the plot, “Marvel has been in touch with certain people who are already part of the MCU to make sure they’re ready for next summer when it’s filmed.” will have an opening in their schedules.” It’s a realization that, of course, opens up further fan speculation (we may already know who might be drafted for the film), but not too much (the pool can be limited by characters, that were already in the MCU).
In 2019, GameSpot predicted that the Thunderbolts were on the way to the MCU. Other MCU characters like Ghost, Goliath, Baron Mordo, and even Venom, who left a bit of symbiote after Spider-Man: No Way Home, are all potential candidates for recruitment. Julia Louis-Dreyfus has also snuck into collaborating with characters like John Walker and Yelena Belova for purposes unknown.
Elsewhere among the MCU’s TV series, Ms. Marvel just launched on June 8th on Disney+. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law debuts August 17 on Disney+. In theaters, the movie side of the MCU will next continue on July 8 with Thor: Love and Thunder.
