Clicking on it will open a submenu with options to open a Word, Powerpoint, or Excel tab. Interestingly, the feature doesn’t just seem locked down to Microsoft 365 subscribers, so everyone should be able to use it.
Every time there is a change there will be people who are dissatisfied with it and a Reddit thread has surfaced with users complaining that the context menu is too bloated. One Reddit user summarized his thoughts pretty succinctly by saying, “Oh god, no … more crap in the context menu.”
If that upsets people, the other part of this update is going to make them angry because Microsoft Edge is apparently adding even more ads.
