If you’re curious about what Microsoft might have in store for the future, you might want to brace yourself for the company’s upcoming build event, which Microsoft says is scheduled for May 24, 2022, which is what they announced the build site.
It’s unclear what Microsoft will announce at the event as no schedule has been released yet, but as XDA points out, based on previous build events, we’ll likely see a keynote address from Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella, followed by various technical sessions where Microsoft will handle changes they will make to its services such as Windows, Azure, etc.
Keep in mind, however, that the Build conference tends to be software-focused, much like Apple’s WWDC, meaning you might be disappointed if you were hoping for new products to be announced, such as perhaps successors to Microsoft’s own Surface -Tablets, -Laptops and -Smartphones (it’s possible, but don’t get your hopes up).
Also, the event will be held virtually, so if you were hoping to attend in person, it doesn’t look like that will be the case this year (maybe next year). As a result of the pandemic, many companies are choosing to hold their events virtually as pre-recorded sessions, and given that the pandemic isn’t quite over yet, Microsoft’s decision to host the Build 2022 event comes as no real surprise.
