Diamond Dynasty is the card-based mode in MLB The Show 22 in which you collect cards and try to build the best possible baseball team. While this mode certainly favors players willing to spend a little cash, there are ways to assemble a top team just by playing the game. Here are a few tips on how to build your dream team in Diamond Dynasty.

How to find the best deals on the marketplace
One of the most important parts of Diamond Dynasty is the marketplace where other players sell their cards for stubs. While buying card packs is certainly cheaper, you know what you’re getting through the marketplace. Knowing how to find a good deal is important because unless you’re ready to break the bank, you probably aren’t shelling out a few hundred thousand stubs to get a top-notch Mike Trout card. Instead, you should use the filters to narrow down the options.
Here you can enter the minimum and maximum player rating and costs, as well as positions and other filters. Once you know how many stubs you want to spend, what position you need, and what a good rating boost is, you can set the filters accordingly. The best way to maximize your stubs is to make sure you get a significant enough rating boost. If your third baseman is 80, it’s probably not worth taking another third baseman under 85. Once you’ve set your filters, look for lower-cost players. You won’t have a team with recognizable superstars, but you will have a solid team to keep playing Diamond Dynasty and earning more stubs.
Always choose Sell Now instead of Quick Sell.
Diamond Dynasty is all about opening card packs and adding the best players you can get to your roster. This also means you get a lot of cards for players you either don’t need or have better players in that position. With MLB The Show 22 about to launch, many cards have two options for selling the card: Sell Now or Quick Sell. The Sell Now option means that someone in the marketplace wants to pick up the card and the number of stubs you will receive is higher than the Quick Sell option. The advantage of Quick Sell is that the option is always available, but take the better price whenever possible.
Know the general rating of your players
Assembling the best possible Diamond Dynasty team requires opening a lot of player packs and looking at a lot of maps. To save yourself some time and headaches, it’s a good idea to have a general idea of what your squad’s player rating is. If you readily know that every pitcher in your rotation is rated above 70, you don’t need to bother checking the stats of a starting pitcher card you just received that is rated 65 . While accurate stats are important when you reach the higher ratings, it is almost always better to go with the higher rated player in the beginning.
Check out Mini Seasons, but don’t expect it to be easy
One of the best ways to earn stubs fast is to win some mini-seasons, which pits your Diamond Dynasty team against a series of teams in a mini-season. You play short, three-inning games in an abbreviated season, allowing you to progress through programs and earn stubs quickly. This is also one of the least complicated single player Diamond Dynasty modes as its regular baseball is just shorter. The only downside to jumping into this mode with your newly minted team is that the other teams will have better players. If you don’t feel like busting your wallet, you’ll need to grind out some stubs.
Try showdown mode to boost stubs
Showdown mode is another way to collect some stubs and use some of the better player cards in the game without actually having them. Each showdown has a series of challenges that you must complete before fighting in a final showdown. Players assemble a team to start and earn bonus cards and perks when they successfully complete a challenge. The only downside to Showdown is that there’s an entry fee to start one, and if you do poorly enough you can come down stubs on the other side.
