As promised, Netflix has expanded its mobile games to iOS devices so that iPhone and iPad owners can play the same handful of titles that were previously released on Android devices. The expansion brings the Netflix Games Portal to the company’s apps on iPhone and iPad as well as to each stand-alone game with its own entry in the App Store.
Netflix Games Explained
Netflix Games is a relatively new addition to the streaming company’s portfolio. The mobile titles are based on the original Netflix content and offer the company a new way to connect with customers, and on the other hand, they offer fans new ways to explore the worlds presented in some of the films and TV shows.
Netflix includes the games as part of its streaming plans, which means players won’t have to pay anything extra for the titles, nor see ads and other annoying monetization programs. This provides an experience similar to that of Apple Arcade mobile gamers and Google’s Play Pass subscriptions.
How it works
The Netflix mobile apps for Android and iOS have been updated with a new Games section, making it easier for subscribers to see the full catalog of available titles. By tapping on one of the titles, the user is directed to their respective platform store (Google Play or App Store) to download the offers as independent games.
If your Netflix app doesn’t have a “Games” section in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, close the app, then update it to the latest version. The new section “Games” should appear in the navigation bar when restarting the app after the update.
Alternatively, if you already know which titles you want, just go to the App Store (for iPhone and iPad) or the Google Play Store (for Android) and search for the game. Each title can be downloaded manually from the app stores. The Netflix app portal makes it easy to find them without searching.
What games are available?
As of the date of this article, Netflix Games hosts a total of five mobile titles:
Netflix notes its mobile games Default setting to English if the user has not set a language in his profile; However, many of the languages that Netflix supports are also supported by its games.
Multiple users can play Netflix game titles on the same account under their respective profiles. However, child profiles do not include the Games category and, according to Netflix, if a PIN is set, users must enter the code before they can play games on the device.
