Reaching Rank 10 in Persona 3 Mitsuru Social Link is the only way to start a romance with Mitsuru and unlock the ultimate Empress Persona, Alilat – if you’re playing the male route. As with Fuuka and Yukari in Persona 3, the female protagonist just becomes very good friends with them.
This guide explains how to start the Mitsuru Social Link and make the best choices for each protagonist. We only recorded the conversations where dialogue selection is important. For everyone that we haven’t included, you can choose any dialogue option and get the same result.
How to start Mitsuru Social Link
Mitsuru is only available after November 21st, and you need maximum academics (genius level) to start the relationship no matter which protagonist you choose. You can level up your academics by studying at night or in the school library, but raising academics to max level takes more than twice as long as it takes to max charm. If you don’t want to neglect your other social connections, you may need to save that relationship for New Game+, where your stats will carry over.
Once you start Mitsuru’s Social Link, you have a very limited time to complete it. December 31st is the deadline for an important decision that will determine which ending you get. If you choose the true ending, you’ll have a little more time in January to work on completing Social Link.
You can find them during the day Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Gekkoukan High near the office.
A simpler Social Link, which you can start much earlier in the role-playing game, involves the old couple in the bookstore. Go to the Mall to start the Hierophant Social Link.
How to romance Mitsuru
If you play as a male protagonist, you will automatically start a romantic relationship with Mitsuru by increasing their social connection. There is no specific moment when you confess your passion or decide to remain friends. This also applies to your relationships with Aigis, Fuuka and Yukari. If you want to make her social links, you don’t have a choice in the romance department — but you’re not penalized for having multiple girlfriends, either.
The female protagonist fails to romanticize Mitsuru.
Best gifts for Mitsuru
If you want to level up faster, you can give gifts to Mitsuru to strengthen your relationship. She prefers:
- dolls
- Branded fashion items
Mitsuru Social Link Options
As with Persona 3’s other Social Links, be sure to bring a Persona of the matching Arcana to get an extra relationship boost for every correct answer. This is the Empress Arcana for Mitsuru. Most Empress Personas start at a higher level. To save money it’s probably best to have one on hand rather than calling from the compendium when you need one. Leanan Sidhe and Yaksini are the ones you are likely to encounter first or be able to fuse first.
