A gaming mouse can be a pretty trademark for many PC gamers. They’re also probably one of the most controversial peripheral categories on the scene. You can ask a group of PC gamers what their favorite mouse is, and you’ll probably get a different answer from everyone. There are just so many variables, like what the mouse is used for, be it FPS, MMO, or a little bit of everything in between.
With the current market, almost all gaming mouse desires that you have can be fulfilled. But one thing I still don’t see often is smaller gaming mice. It’s quite surprising considering how many younger people play – let alone adults with smaller hands or just people who like a nice little portable mouse. The newly announced Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition (opens in new tab) tries to fill that niche with a small mouse packed with big gamer credential. And with a big gamer price tag.
Razer describes the Razer Viper Mini SE in its press release as, I’m not kidding, “a magnesium alloy gaming masterpiece,” which is a pretty good reason for this lol verifier machine. While I’m not sure it can live up to that, it’s a cool looking mini kit, complete with an intense matte black magnesium alloy exoskeleton.
The choice of material and shape has allowed Razer to make this Signature Edition Viper Mini the company’s lightest mouse yet. At only 49 grams, this is a really light mouse. Plenty of other lightweights are just over 60, including our current favorite Logitech G Pro X Superlight wireless gaming mouse.
For me, this is definitely a mouse to watch out for. The current lightweight mouse trend has brought a few to my desk to review, and I’ve always been surprised at how much I appreciate lightness. It makes it far more likely that I’ll actually pick up my mouse when I need to, rather than being lazy. I tend to find it easier to snap fast shots in FPS, and I’m generally a bit quicker at reacting to things.

A successor to the well-received Razer Viper Ultimate wireless gaming mouse, the Viper Mini is packed with the features you would normally expect. It runs the company’s 30k optical sensor and accuracy, along with Razer’s Gen 3 mouse switches. Surprisingly, it’s even said to be pretty tough on the battery, with up to 60 hours on a full charge that takes less than 90 minutes.
The Razer Viper MinI SE comes in a pretty snazzy looking box complete with dongle, glass feet, assorted tape grips, cleaning wipes and alcohol swabs. All that pomp and hassle will repay you at launch this month at $279.99 or €319.99, with an initial drop on the Razer official site at 8pm PST on February 11th, 2023.
