To address the challenges of teams working in a hybrid world, RingCentral has announced a number of new features for RingCentral MVP (Message Video Phone).
One of the most exciting new features is live transcription, which uses AI to enable RingCentral to automatically transcribe entire meetings. The company’s new transcription capabilities will also help the hearing impaired keep in touch with the conversation.
Managing multiple meetings can be difficult, which is why RingCentral introduces meeting summaries to provide users with a summary of the conversation and an automatically generated abstract, video highlight role, and keywords. This is in addition to live transcription and full recording of meetings so that users can quickly find discussion point tags without reading or viewing the entire recording.

RingCentral also adds its new Infinite Whiteboard feature, which allows users to visually illustrate ideas through freeform drawing, virtual sticky notes, uploading images, and annotating content that can be shared after meetings. The infinite part of the name refers to the fact that the company gives users an infinite amount of space on the whiteboard so that they can keep scrolling and adding drawings or pictures without restrictions. Fortunately, a built-in minimap helps attendees keep track of where they are on the whiteboard at all times.
Live transcription, meeting summaries, and whiteboard will be generally available to all RingCentral customers in the first quarter of next year.
Next generation analytics
RingCentral also brings next-gen analytics to its online collaboration platform to deliver breakthrough insights for industry-specific use cases. Because the company was born in the cloud, its platform includes powerful built-in analytics available on a single page, enabling customers to make business decisions with just a few clicks.
At the same time, line managers can now use analytics to improve their team’s performance and business impact. RingCentral’s new line of business analytics offers users insight into communication data on an extensive customizable dashboard and reporting interface. However, there are also open APIs that help create key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to your business. Next-gen analytics are available now on request and will be generally available in the first quarter of next year.
In order to simplify the sharing of content, RingCentral is one of the first providers of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) to offer sharing in a meeting via the rear view camera of a smartphone within the RingCentral app. This feature is expected to be introduced in the fourth quarter of this year.
Finally, RingCentral extends the capabilities of RingCentral Room by creating a touchless environment in which users can seamlessly share content, switch from their devices to a meeting room, make phone calls in meeting rooms, and connect existing room systems to RingCentral’s video conferencing.
