A recent leak may have revealed some of the games that will be made available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers later this month.
The leak comes from the ResetEra user BlackBate (opens in new tab) (above PushSquare (opens in new tab)), who claims to have learned “some of the games” that will be added to PlayStation Plus as part of the mid-month update for Extra and Premium subscribers.
The list includes the already officially confirmed (opens in new tab) strays; Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode Break; Saints Row IV: Re-elected; and a handful of Assassin’s Creed titles including Black Flag, Unity, Rogue Remastered, Freedom Cry, and The Ezio Collection.
According to BlackBate, these titles will be available on July 19th, which is Stray’s release date, by the way. It’s worth noting that BlackBate says these are just “some” of the games being added, suggesting the lineup could be more extensive.
As for how reliable this leak is likely to be, at least previously, the user correctly leaked information about ResetEra ahead of any official announcements. They’re not a common poster by any means, but as spotted by PushSquare, they’ve previously leaked details Death Stranding Director’s Cut (opens in new tab) and the Skull and Bones is newly revealed (opens in new tab).
Of course, we can’t be sure of the exact lineup and date for the mid-month PlayStation Plus update until it’s officially confirmed by Sony. The abundance of Ubisoft titles makes at least one in the context of the Ubisoft+ Classics catalog that is part of PlayStation Plus and the publisher’s promise in May that the catalog “will start with 27 titles and grow to 50 by the end sense of 2022.”

What is the mid-month update?
This is all part of Sony’s recently revamped PlayStation Plus subscription service. Now PlayStation Plus has three tiers: Essential, Extra and Premium. While the Essential tier is much the same as the original PS Plus service, with online multiplayer access, PlayStation Store discounts, and monthly PS4 and PS5 games, Extra and Premium offer more.
Sony has Approved (opens in new tab) that the additional benefits of the Extra and Premium tiers include, among other things, a second monthly game update that “will arrive mid-month with new games on the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans.” According to Sony, “the number of updated games varies per month”.
Sony has yet to officially confirm the date when subscribers can expect this second update, but it has Approved (opens in new tab) that Stray will be released on July 19 and that it will “also be available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members at that time”.
The default lineup of PS Plus games for July for all PS Plus tiers has already been announced, with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan and Arcadegeddon now available to subscribers.
