Another good brush
Shyn sonic toothbrushWired contributor Christopher Null rated the Shyn a 7/10 in his review of Toothbrush Subscription Services. Most electric toothbrushes now have brush head subscriptions, but the Shyn’s handle and brush heads are compatible with Philips Sonicare products.
Null says its pressure sensor (a beep to signal you’re cleaning too hard) isn’t always accurate, but its cleaning power has been exceptional. He hates the incredibly bright light that flashes when the brush is charging, but as long as your sink is not visible from the bed this shouldn’t be a problem. It comes with a travel case and charger, and a subscription costs $ 5 for a new brush head every two or three months.

This uses LED lights
Snow LED electric toothbrushSnow started with a handful of whitening products, such as Serums and Stripes. It recently added a toothbrush to its range that has LED lights right in the brush head. You’ve likely seen blue light devices on your Instagram feed, and they usually work in conjunction with a gel. When I spoke to Bill Busch of North Kansas City Dental about AutoBrush’s light functions (read more about AutoBrush below), he explained that LED lights heat the gel, which makes it more efficient. To get the full effect, you should also use a nice whitening toothpaste. Snow has onebut all should be fine.
My teeth no longer shine after a month of use, but they do are clean. I’ll keep watching the paint, but liked that it lightened my mouth while I brushed. The battery is also solid; I didn’t have to charge it yet. But it’s still expensive for a toothbrush.

Recognitions
More electric toothbrushesThere are far more electric toothbrushes than we can recommend in a single guide. If none of the above options suit you, one of them may do the trick.
- Brightline Sonic for $ 37: WIRED author Christopher Null rated this brush a 9/10 for its powerful vibrations that offer noticeable cleaning without feeling too intense. The supply has been limited, but the company says it should be back to normal by the end of March.
- SmileDirectClub Electric Toothbrush for $ 20: This is a great cheap brush. We think you will like this one as much as the Philips One – they’re similar, but the SmileDirectClub is just slightly larger and has coarser bristles that you may prefer. If you’ve already got the Water Flosser mentioned below and you also need a toothbrush, putting them together is a great choice.
- Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9300 for $ 190: This is a great toothbrush in terms of cleanability and convenience, but its smart features leave a lot to be desired. As with the Oral-B iO, I couldn’t get the app to closely follow my brushing sessions. Plus it’s too expensive.
