The first season of Game informers‘s Video Gameography explores the history of the Metroid franchise. We are now knee-deep in the Prime era and we are tackling Samus’ second 3D outing, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
This sequel to the acclaimed Metroid Prime was released in the United States on November 15, 2004, and stepped up its stakes as it explored the dark and light world in the Zelda style. Players traverse two versions of a labyrinthine map, solve puzzles that opened paths into opposite dimensions, and endure the harmful effects of the dark world. Samus will take on Dark Samus for the first time, one of a series of challenging boss encounters that cemented Echoes as the toughest entry in the Prime series, for better or for worse.
Join the hosts Ben Reeves (@BenjaminReeves), Marcus Stewart (@ MarcusStewart7) and Nintendo ambassadors / Metroid fanatics Ky and Kyle Parker (@ CaptDangerous64, @admiralboogaloo) for the next hour as we explore the lore, evolutionary history, and lasting effects of Metroid Prime 2.
