The Outlast Trials, the third entry in the beloved horror franchise, will welcome players to its twisted world when it hits PC Early Access on May 18th.
A new trailer reveals the news in a rather unique way, featuring voice actors recording the terrifying screams, screams and grunts that will unsettle players in the game. The game was first announced in 2019, and developer Red Barrels gave players their first hands-on try of the game via a closed beta last October. However, the ETA for the full release remains a mystery.
The Outlast Trials shakes up the formula of previous entries by allowing you to play with friends in four-player co-op (although you can still play solo). The game unfolds in a secret Cold War facility where players controlling involuntary test subjects are tortured in gruesome experiments. Avoiding enemies rather than confronting them remains the key to survival, although you’ll obtain and upgrade tools that can increase your chances of staying hidden or slowing down enemies.
You can check out The Outlast Trials in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Store.
