Razer has a fairly extensive catalog of gaming accessories for all types of devices, from keyboards to mice to controllers and headsets. For the last segment, the new Kaira family has become the headlining headset brand for PCs and consoles. So far, however, these headsets have tended towards the more expensive end of the spectrum, at least in terms of their nature. Razer is now fixing that with the Razer Kaira X for the Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5, although it can really be used for any device due to its characteristic function.
Razer has heavily touted its TriForce 50mm drivers as the focal point of the Kaira headsets. In short, this driver handles each high, medium, or low frequency separately, so it enhances each area equally for audio clarity and powerful bass at the same time. The Razer Kaira headset line also advertises a HyperClear Cardioid Mic, which is mounted on a pliable boom structure to block out unwanted background noise.
The Razer Kaira X shares this DNA with the Kaira and Kaira Pro with one major difference. Instead of a wireless connection, it uses a standard 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to any audio source. In other words, while it is advertised for the latest Xbox and PlayStation consoles, it can actually be used with any device that supports that port.
It really all boils down to the branding, in this case the colors. the Kaira X for PlayStation is only available in the characteristic black and white colors of the PS5. the Kaira X for Xbox, on the other hand, tried to match the colors of the Xbox wireless controller. That means black, white, “Shock Blue”, “Pulse Red” and “Electric Volt”.
The lack of wireless connectivity allows Razer to charge a lower price. The Razer Kaira X for consoles is now available for just $ 60, up $ 40 from the base Kaira model. From now on, only the Kaira X for PlayStation and the black and white color options for the Kaira X for Xbox are available for purchase. The bright Xbox colors cannot be pre-ordered until October 14th.
