How was Netflix going to put an exclamation mark on its three hour weekend news called Tudum? How about the ultimate news dump for one of his biggest and most popular fantasy adaptations: The witcher?
First, before the release of the second season on December 17th, Netflix has already renewed the show for season three. This is massive news, but it doesn’t stop there. One second Witcher Anime feature is on the way and, perhaps the strangest news, a “Children and Family” series featured in the Witcher World is also in the works. Makes it Teaching children how to bathe properly? We do not know yet.
In addition, this brand new mega franchise trailer has been released; It includes footage from the first season as well as brand new footage from the upcoming second season. Listen.
As you can see in this trailer, Season two will see Geralt (Henry Cavill) take Ciri (Freya Allan) to Kaer Morhen, the ancestral home of the Wolf Witcher School, where he learned how to hunt monsters (and happens to be the Subject of the first spin-off anime Released earlier this year). They’re also still on the hunt for the missing magician Yennefer von Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), but Geralt eventually realizes that the magic that’s inside Ciri could be her greatest threat.
