Many subscription services offer family plans. This is because they want to attract more customers, but also know that individuals may find it harder to pay for their own subscriptions than a family plan, which could convince people to share a subscription at a lower cost.
Because of that, it’s not really surprising to learn that Microsoft might be considering this for its Xbox Game Pass. According to a report from Windows Central, they have learned that Microsoft appears to be planning an Xbox Game Pass family plan that would allow users to add family members to their Xbox Game Pass subscription for a lower average price.
From what they’ve heard from their sources, the Xbox Game Pass family plan is expected to give up to five players access to an entire library and be cheaper than paying for five separate individual subscriptions. It’s also expected to leverage Microsoft’s Family Account system, which is already being used by Microsoft’s other subscription services such as Office 365.
There’s no word on exactly how much this new plan might cost or when it’ll be announced, but for those who see the value in family plans, this could be something to look forward to in the near future.
