Apps like YouTube have a history feature that essentially lets you see what videos you’ve recently watched. According to a tweet from Hammod Oh, TikTok now appears to be testing a similar feature for the app, which will soon allow users to see all the videos they’ve watched so far.
Keep in mind that this isn’t exactly new per se. As TechCrunch notes, TikTok has indicators that let you know that you’ve already seen a particular video. Users can also try to filter out videos they’ve watched on the Discover page, but it’s counterintuitive, especially for new users unfamiliar with the app.

By creating your own section that lists the videos you’ve watched, you might find it easier to find what you’re looking for. That being said, we have to wonder how practical that could be. Unlike the longer YouTube videos, TikTok’s videos are meant to be binged, so after 30 minutes of watching you can easily go through 20-30 videos, and over the course of a week it might be harder to find the videos that You have already seen.
However, we assume it’s still a welcome feature, but for now since the feature is only in the testing phase, we’re not sure if the company plans to actually roll it out to users in the future.
