Apple caused a stir with its polishing cloth in October last year.
Despite the hefty price tag of $ 19, the high-tech company’s low-tech kit flew off the shelves, with shipping quickly taking several weeks, then several months, before the apparently popular item was completely sold out.
The good news is that the polishing cloth is now back in stock (at the time of writing!), with shipping currently taking a few days instead of a few months.
According to 9to5Mac, who discovered Apple’s replenishment of fabrics earlier this week, the item is only available through the company’s online store.
Fabric buyers will be delighted to learn that the item is made of “soft, non-abrasive material” – certainly the least you can expect – and “cleans any Apple display, including nanostructured glass, safely and effectively,” according to the product of the article page.
The listing even has a huge “Compatibility” section, which lists pretty much every Apple product the company has ever built – including the iPod Shuffle, which doesn’t even have a screen.
The good news is that the current chip scarcity affecting global tech companies will have no impact on the delivery of the polishing cloth, as the cloth doesn’t need technology to function (yes, it’s just a cloth).
However, if you’re looking to buy a new polishing cloth but feel like Apple is asking too much for its own efforts, check out Digital Trends’ carefully curated proposals, which start at the cheaper $ 5.
