While the world is slowly trying to drag itself to a sense of normalcy as Covid-19 pandemic continues, Events and companies I want to bring the public back had to try and balance easing federal restrictions with private rules on masks, vaccination status and more. Now one of the largest amusement parks in the US is taking a big step forward with its own regulations.
Announced today, Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California will begin mandatory vaccinations and testing evidence to protect visitors from Covid-19 12th and higher October 7th in line with new orders from the LA County Public Health Department. Guests must provide proof of either FDA or WHO-approven vaccination that occurs at least two weeks after the last dose (whether two-dose vaccinations such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna or Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose vaccine) or a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of your visit. In addition, all guests over 18 years of age are subjected to a photo ID check. Universal’s new rules don’t stop here either – regardless of the vaccination status once in the park, Guests must wear masks both indoors and outdoors and are encouraged to “keep a safe distance between tour groups” while parks “focus on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and disinfection”.
These latest rules do not apply to Universals Resorts in Orlando, Florida where GOvernor Ron DeSantis has been involved in campaigns Forbid mask and Vaccination requirements for months in private companies and schools. Although Disney, another amusement park owner, has not yet implemented similar vaccination regulations, both Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida Masked requirement reintroduced indoors for guests in July after mask restrictions were lifted a month earlier. While Universal Studio’s new guidelines don’t specify an age group for using masks, Disney’s latest rules apply to anyone over the age of two.
Theme parks in the USA.S. are particularly hard hit by the pandemic, even as some Locales open earlier rather than later while Covid cases in the country continued to fluctuate widely. Thatlow The return of public confidence in the wake of improved vaccination rates is now accompanied by a certain reluctanceing back at least some pandemic restrictions, now that vaccination rates have slowed and cases in unvaccinated Americans continue to rise. Whether more rules like Universal Studios will become the norm in other parks remains to be seen, but for now, if you head to LA, You want to have your vaccination card and mask on you before enjoying some drives.
