Captaincy is coming to Sea of Thieves! What does this mean for those unfamiliar with pirate slang? You can now buy and customize your own ship. This ability comes in the seventh season of the game, starting August 4th.
Even if you’ve made it rich with Sea of Thieves and are laden to the gills with gold, you can only buy one of each ship type: Sloop, Brigantine, and Galleon. In the teaser video above, we can see that the sloop costs 250,000 gold, the brigantine 375,000 and the four-person galleon 500,000. Once one of these ships is yours, you can give it a name, which will appear on a wooden plaque on the ship’s crest. If you really want to leave your mark on it, you can customize the captain’s cabin, right down to the design of the table, chair and carpet.
Their achievements on the high seas can also be displayed in the form of new trinkets in the cabin. We don’t yet know how many trinkets are available, but the video shows items that can sit on shelves or hang on walls. You can place each one as carefully as you like. Be warned: each item is physics based, meaning it slides in storms and when attacked. You may need to pick them up after an expedition and reset how they are hung.
Each time you return to your ship it will be as you left it – including any damage taken. You can make it look like new again by spending some gold at a shop to repair the damage and give it a new coat of paint.
Season 7 gives you more to play with the introduction of Milestones, a new progression system that tracks your progress across a variety of areas. When you cook 25 supplies you unlock a milestone. Earn 30,000 gold as an Emissary of Athena’s Fortune and you’ll unlock another one. The milestones bring unique rewards, including new ship customizations.
This season, players will encounter a variety of other new things, such as: B. Go on Captain’s Voyages, earn over 100 tiers of rewards, and unravel many mysteries. And shortly after this new content releases, Sea of Thieves’ next limited-time adventure, A Hunter’s Cry, arrives on August 18th. Find out what treasures or secrets we will be chasing.
